MidAmerican Rebates Program: What Is It?

MidAmerican Rebates Program: What Is It?

The general population is aware of what a rebate program is. You purchase a product and have the opportunity to receive a rebate, or essentially a refund, of a portion of what you paid. When stores offer rebates, you typically mail in the UPC or fill out a mail-in form in order to receive your rebate.

The process isn’t too much different when it comes to the MidAmerican Rebates Program. The rebates are offered through MidAmerican Energy Company and usually have to do with energy conservation and the products or services you purchase in order to help conserve energy usage. The rebates can also be recurring and vary due to your specific energy needs and participation.

Today, we’ll specifically look at the rebate offered for residents and businesses regarding insulation.

Residential Insulation Rebate

One of the main costs of owning a home, besides the mortgage, is the cost of cooling and heating it. Homes that are not properly insulated are literally leaking money. One of the main areas for heat loss is through the attic, making that a critical point of insulation. Proper insulation can save homeowners up to 20 percent on heating and cooling costs.

In order for a residential customer to receive a MidAmerican Rebate, they must complete a HomeCheck assessment prior to insulation projects. An assessor will determine a rebate level during the HomeCheck assessment. Your dealer, such as ECO Insulation, can send in the completed rebate form along with the invoice for a resident in order to apply for a rebate.

Commercial Insulation Rebate

Similar to residential customers, businesses also have overhead expenses that include the utilities to keep their premises at a comfortable working level. Businesses, just like residential owners, can apply for a MidAmerican rebate.

The process is very similar in that the business will need an on-site building assessment prior to beginning an insulation project. Improvements made before the assessment are not eligible for rebates. The initial R-value and building square footage will be two of the factors taken into consideration during the calculation of a business’s rebate.
